A few days back while I was browsing through my reading list on Google Reader, I clicked on a post title of an interesting blog and was able to read the whole content of the post without leaving Google Reader.
Now that may sound normal to any one, but what's not normal is the fact that, prior to this she had set her feed settings to display only the first few sentences of the post. And with a foot note saying;
[[ This is a content summary only. Visit my website for full links, other content, and more! ]]
I actually wanted to write to her about it but I guess somebody overtook me or she herself decided to change it. I hope her subscribers are thankful for that.
But I still see many other blogs with the same settings. Some with the title alone and others with only one or two or just a half a sentence!
With my inexpert/limited knowledge, I think, the reason behind this may be to make people actually visit their blogs. But sometimes post titles or the first few sentences may not give a good picture of the actual content and with their busy schedules people may not bother to really find out.
I personally like to be able to read the whole content and I do spend a few minutes to visit and leave a comment if it is interesting.
What are your thoughts about this -
1. Will you be convinced to click and find out what a post is actually about when only the title is available?
2. Are you content with a few sentences alone? Or
3. Are you like me and would like the whole content to be delivered via your reader?

I like to see the whole post but if I find the first few sentences interesting enough I'll open up the blog. It's not too much trouble to do but I think they're not doing themselves any favours because if readers are in a hurry they're not going to bother. I'm a bit ignorant about this so can you tell me, I suppose it won't be logged as a 'view' on the blog if a reader doesn't click to the blog?
For my blog, I have the settings for "only a few sentences" and the reason for that is- I am just sick and tired of my blog content being stolen. My rationale is that if people are forced to come to my site, they will read all the disclaimers and copyright statements and the possibility of plagiarism is reduced. I don't know if it actually works that way though :)

Teresa, I have no clue about it either, hope somebody else can enlighten us!
I prefer to see the whole post in my feed reader.
